Journey to El Paso

On January 10th, 2012, my trip began.
I took a train to Nagoya Airport, and flew to El Paso where I had been 6 years ago.
²èÁü 002
There, I met my another family in the states and stayed at their place for a week.
²èÁü 003
The doggy I used to be with was dead 3 years ago which was the saddest news I had in my trip.
²èÁü 004
This chabby dog is also the one I used to be with, but he grew a lot bigger now.

The next day Jan 11th, Carlos (who's my host family) and I took an airplane to Dallas.
This trip was taken in order to get my driver's license renewed.

We arrived at Dallas late at the night and went to a hotel where I booked.
The next day, we rented a car to go to the DPS which was located in a downtown of Dallas Fortworth.

Well, I couldn't get it renewed because I need a Visa in order to show a proof of citizenship.
The law has been changed strictly since I came back to Japan, and it's a lot hard for people came from outside the states to get one.
Needless to say, it was because of 911, increasing of terrorism, fear of Mexican gangs, and other concerns of the world safety.
I understood the circumstances, and I didn't have any choice but to gave up my driver's license renewed.

So, now we had time to go arround at Dallas!
We went to The 6Th Floor Museum where a gunman shot the fires to John F.Kenedy.
²èÁü 007
The building in redbrown color in the right side is the museum.
²èÁü 006
At the museum, you have your headphone which guides you the history of JFK.
It was rather interesting to learn about one of the most widely known, popular, yet unfortunate president of the United States of America.
²èÁü 009
²èÁü 008
This is the street where JFK was died.
The death of JFK is still a mistery of most of the people in the states and surely it won't be cleard so easily.

The next early mornig, we flew back to El Paso.
I could still use my driver's license as my ID, so the trip was nothing but an easy one.
We did lost at Dallas Fortworth Airpot (because it's a crazy huge airport), but the trip went very well so far.

In the late morning of Jan 13th, we were back at El Paso.
It was really a relief as I was the one who took all the reservations of the trip.
Now I can go anywhere if they speak English (or Japanese)!
The day went pease and queit, and we just stayed in the house.

The next day, Jan 14th, Carlos and Laura (Carlos's wife) took me to a Mexican restaurant and we ate our breakfast there.
After that, they took me to an outlet which had not been there when I was in El Paso.
Shopping is fun even if you are outside of your country.
We, women love shopping and there is no border!!
Back at home, we watched a movie 'Hachi'.
Needless to say, it's quite beutiful, yet rather sad story which makes you cry.
It was hard for me not to cry.

So it was my 25th Birthday on Jan 15th!
They celebrated my birthday with food, laughs, and much of joys, and they even gave me some awesome presents!
I am sure I won't forget this day.
There were Carlos with his wife, his sister with her two daughters (who had been children but grew up a lot), and Carlos's mother who speaks only Spanish.
It's weird but funny to be with someone who dosen't speak languages you do.
I know she cares of me deeply like the way my grandmother dose, and I do love her a lot.
Oh, I must have taken photos...

The next day, Jan 16th, Carlos, Laura, and I went to a restaurant.
There, we had special lunch with Carlos's relatives.
And after we ate lunch, Carlos, Laura, his nieces, and I went to see a movie 'Contraband' which is a bit violentic, crazy, yet funny.
We got to Carlos's nieces' house after the movie which I've never been before, and had a little chat with them.
So it was the last night at El Paso.
I started getting ready fo going back which took me not so long.
Packing up for going back home makes you feel sad especially when you were with someone you like.
I cried a bit.

Jan 17th, my last day at El paso, I woke up early (actually too early) for my trip.
I left El Paso in the early morning, transported at L.A., and came back to Japan in the night Jan 18th.
²èÁü 017
The problem was I got a cold and too exhausted by my trip.
And the hardest part is getting on the train because I was too tired and felt sick.
I took a train to go straight to Gifu from Nagoya Airport, and my mother and brother picked me up at the station.

Now, I'm in my house writing what you are reading.
The trip was extraordinary fun which made me sad to finish it.
I was quite glad that I still can speak English.
I met people who were totally strangers, and had good chat with them.

Using only English for a week made me hard to speak Japanese.
I still think things in English which sounds a bit weird since I was pure Japanese grown up in Japan.

One of the lure of a trip is meeting people.
It might be people you know or not, but you don't really need to be worried.
There are so many different people from all around the world.
We are all different with various back grounds, religions, colors, languages, and countries, but it dosen't mean you cannot be friends or being together.
We are all human just in different categories.
So why not forget the tiny differencies, and meet new people all around the world.
The world is waiting for you!

Happy Christmas, dear

(Happy Christmas, Kyoko
Happy Christmas, Julian)

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
A new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (War is Over, if you want it, war is over now)repeat with verse
For weak and for strong
The rich and the poor ones
The road is so long
So happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear

And so this is Christmas (War is over, if you want it, war is over now) repeat with verse
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
And we hope you have fun
The near and the dear ones
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
War is over now

Merry Christmas
